The Inkisanjani Digital Resource Centre was established in 2017 and is situated on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, about 6km from the Lotokitok-Emali road leading to Tsavo National Park. Our primary goal is to support the youth, women, and residents of the Kuku Plains community by offering programmes centred around digital literacy, leadership, and environmental sustainability.
Mission and Objectives
Our objective at the Inkisanjani Digital Resource Centre is to help bridge the digital gap, develop leadership potential, and promote eco-conscious habits among our beneficiaries. By providing accessible learning opportunities and engaging the community, we strive to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the region.
Facilities and Resources
We offer a functional computer lab stocked with updated computers and necessary software. Our training room accommodates small to medium-sized groups, allowing us to cater to diverse learning requirements. Basic WiFi coverage keeps learners connected to essential online resources. Additionally, we feature simple recreational spaces, including a basketball court and a volleyball pitch, which encourage physical activity and community interaction. A backup generator helps mitigate power disruptions.
Programs and Services
Digital Literacy Training
Approximately 200 students have graduated from our foundational digital literacy course since its inception. Students acquire crucial computer skills, internet navigation techniques, email communication strategies, and introductory coding principles. These essential competencies enable learners to adapt to the demands of the contemporary world and secure employment or further education opportunities.
Leadership Development
Our leadership development workshops focus on enhancing essential soft skills, such as communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and time management. Participants gain valuable insights into becoming responsible and influential figures within their communities.
Environmental Sustainability
Environmental consciousness is a key priority at the Inkisanjani Digital Resource Centre. We facilitate workshops addressing topics like waste reduction, water conservation, and energy efficiency.
