How It Works
At the foot of Africa's towering Mt. Kilimanjaro, MKCDP is a lifeline for over 2,800 children and their families across Kajiado South. More than just a charitable organization, MKCDP is thriving community force-built on the principles of care, empowerment, and resilience-spanning five wards and 27 zones. With deep roots in three major sites, - Mbirikani Child Center, Kuku Plains Child Care Programme, and Naretoi Child Care Project - we are dedicated to creating sustainable change through child-focused development.
Operating within the communities of Kuku, Mbirikani/Eselenkei, Kimana, Rombo, and Entonet/Lenkisim, we aim to transform lives by ensuring children recieve not just education and healthcare but opportunities for a brighter future. Our vision reaches beyond immediate needs to build economically self-sufficient households. We focus on empowering women and youth preparing them for the challenges pf tomorrow and ensuring the children of today grow up healthier, more educated, and filled with hope.
Our approach is multifaceted, combining capacity-building efforts with direct resource distribution and specialized support services. We invest in training staff, facilitators, and community volunteers to ensure effective program implementation. Thorough baseline assessments are conducted to identify specific needs and set measurable goals. We then directly distribute essential resources, such as seeds, beekeeping kits, and water filters, to beneficiary households. For children with disabilities, we facilitate specialized medical assessments and referrals, ensuring they receive the care they require.
